History, grad school, and gravestones!
What a classic tombstone!
A beautiful stone. Do we know the carver?Edward Hazen was one of the early settlers of Rowley and the ancestor of most everyone of the name in this region. Some of them moved to the interior towns; it's a common name in Shirley and Harvard -- the Shirley public library is the Hazen Library.—RJO
Comparing it to stones in the Farber Collection, I'd say the carver is Joseph Mullicken.
