Edward Hazen was one of the early settlers of Rowley and the ancestor of most everyone of the name in this region. Some of them moved to the interior towns; it's a common name in Shirley and Harvard -- the Shirley public library is the Hazen Library.

What a classic tombstone!
A beautiful stone. Do we know the carver?

Comparing it to stones in the Farber Collection, I'd say the carver is Joseph Mullicken.
