Dear Caitlin, I am an adult student at the University of Rhode Island writing a paper on 3 colonial stone carvers. John Stevens, Henry Emmes, and Stephen Hartshorn. I have found extensive material on the Stevens shop, but not so much on the other 2 carvers. I was wondering if you have any information on these two individuals and/or their families, or where you would suggest I look.
Your information, comments, and pictures of the assorted gravestones and their design, text, and information is beautiful and thought provoking. Keep up the wonderful work.
