Here is another carver who crosses his capital Is. This looks like the work of Joseph Marble, but is cruder than the example identified in the Farber Collection.

Aha, it does exist in Unicode as "latin capital i with stroke":

Ɨ

& # 4 0 7 ;

That doesn't tell us anything about its historical or typographic significance, but it's a start.
